Since 1998, Kids Unlimited of Southern Oregon has been helping change the lives of young people in Jackson County. Our mission is to make sure that all kids, regardless of their backgrounds, have access to education — and opportunity.

With free after-school enrichment programs, low-cost summer camps, sports programs, arts and dance activities, leadership mentoring, teen connection programs and at-risk outreach programs, Kids Unlimited helps more than 1,000 young people each week in southern Oregon.

A little opportunity goes a long way. Despite obstacles of poverty, family crisis and cultural barriers that many of our kids face, I’ve witnessed some amazing success stories; stories created by providing opportunities and new challenges.

Now, we’re facing a new challenge. Kids Unlimited has embarked on a goal to create a $3 million community center that will expand opportunities to even more of our young people. Thanks to the generosity of the Rider family, operators of the landmark Medford Bowling Lanes, we’re building the future.

We’re constructing a youth and family community center in West Medford that will offer services ranging from a kitchen providing warm meals to a first-class gymnasium. Our plans include a performing arts center, a computer lab, on-site library and more.

We believe that all kids, regardless of background, deserve a chance to succeed. It’s in their best interest, but it’s in the community’s best interest as well. Young people who are offered opportunities now return that favor by becoming productive citizens later.
